The Isley Brothers is an American rhythm and blues and soul group that in varying compositions successes.

Career[Edit][]
The Isley Brothers started in 1954 as gospel music ensemble, but after the early death of brother Vernon in 1955 they stepped over on rhythm-and-blues. In 1959 the Group obtained with the song Shout their first listing in the Billboard Hot 100, after I'm gonna knock on your door was flopped. In the early sixties was their lead guitarist Jimi Hendrix .
In 1965 they signed a contract with Motown. Their biggest hits were This Old Heart Of mine (Is Weak For You) and Behind A Painted Smile, but it was hard to repeat that success and in 1968 they left Motown to T-Neck Records on their own label move on. The last chart positions achieved The Isley Brothers in 2001 with a collaboration with r. Kelly with the song of the Contagiousalbum Eternal .
The Isley Brothers scored from the 1950s until the 21st century began six decades behind each other in one or more chart positions on the Billboard Hot 100. They are one of the longest-active groups in pop history.Today the group only exists from Ronald Isley and Ernie Isley, although this also stopped duosamenstelling anno 2008 related to a prison sentence for Ronald because of tax evasion.
