The Hive (TV series)

The Hive (Persian: کندویی ها, Polish: Ul, German: Summ, summ, super!, Spanish: La Colmena Feliz, French: La Ruche, Italian: La casa delle Api, Portuguese: A Colmeia Feliz) is a British-Iranian-Australian CG animated children's television series broadcast by Playhouse Disney (now Disney Junior), CITV and ABC2 in September 2010. 78 Discovery Kids (Latin America) episodes of 7 minutes have been produced for the first season. The second season aired in 2014. The programme is a joint production of many companies, including DQ Entertainment, Lupus Films, Monumental Productions, Picture Production Company, Hive Enterprises and Bejuba! Entertainment.

The programme has also aired on ABC2 in Australia. The voice of Buzzbee in this edition of the programme is Harry Hendel. Rubee is Buzbee’s older sister who is two years older than him and is often deemed rude, however she loves her little brother. The Hive based on its human condition joint the humans (or homo sapiens) (including males and females) became the bees. The original bootleg, rip-off and parody of television shows and films like The Simpsons, Bee Movie, Bananas in Pyjamas and Maya the Bee.

Premise and format

The Hive is a colourful animated series for kids all ages introducing life to early learners with the Bee Family. This series is about the everyday things that concern small children such as playing, being friendly, spending time with your family, getting along, and finding out all about the world and how it works.

Characters

• Buzzbee: A five-year-old bee. He is helpful and inquisitive. Rubee calls him an "annoying little brother".
• Rubee: A seven-year-old bee. She is the eldest child of Mama Bee and Papa Bee, older daughter, and sister to Buzzbee and Babee. Buzzbee calls her a "bossy big sister". Rubee is a computer wizz.
• Babee: Buzzbee and Rubee's baby sister. She loves to giggle and play with her sister and brother.
• Mamma Bee: The mother of Buzzbee, Rubee and Babee and the wife of Pappa Bee. She often bakes cakes and other food.
• Pappa Bee: The father of Buzzbee, Rubee and Babee and the husband of Mamma Bee. He often sits on the sofa reading his newspaper.
• Grandma Bee: The grandmother of Buzzbee, Rubee and Babee and the wife of Grandpa Bee. She looks after Rubee, Buzzbee and Babee when Mamma Bee is not at home. It is unknown if she has mothered Mamma Bee or Pappa Bee.
• Grandpa Bee: The grandfather of Buzzbee, Rubee and Babee and the husband of Grandma Bee. He often gives Buzzbee a treat and tells him a story. It is unknown if he has fathered Mamma Bee or Pappa Bee.
• Jump: Grandma and Grandpa Bee's pet flea. He is very energetic and loves to jump around a lot.
• Jasper: A mischievous wasp who often plays tricks on his friends. He is one of Buzzbee's best friends and sometimes sarcastic and calls Barnabee a slowworm.
• Barnabee: A loyal and truthful bee who is another one of Buzzbee's best friends. He wears glasses.
• Debee: Rubee's best friend. She has freckles and brown pigtails.
• Miss Ladybird: Buzzbee's teacher from Honeydew School.
• Postman Spider: A postman who is good friends with Buzzbee.
• Katypillar: A caterpillar who looks after and plants flowers.
• Mr Millipede: A millipede who is a mechanic.
• Doctor Beetle: A beetle who is a doctor.
• Millice and Vince: Two ants who work in Anthill Store.
• Lord Bartlebee Buzz: A lord who is briefly snobbish but kind. He is the Queen's personal servant.
• Queen Bee: A queen bee who is Lord Bartlebee's love interest. She is good friends with Buzzbee.
• Mrs Wasp: Jasper's Mum. She is good friends with Buzzbee's Mum.
• Snail: A snail and a student from Honeydew School. He hides in his shell when he gets scared.
• Spider: A spider and a student from Honeydew School. He may be Postman Spider's son.
• Worm: A silent and really annoying worm who appears in every episode and in the ending credits.
• Birds: The two birds which appear in every episode on a nearby tree.
• Clara Bee: The cleaner of Honeydew School. Never seen, only mentioned by Miss Ladybird in episode "Have You Heard?"
• Worker Bees: Three bees who keep collecting pollen grains from the Flower Field.
• Herbee: A four year old bee. He is Barnabee's little brother.
• Mrs. Butterfly: Katypillar’s mother.
