Sonic Mega Collection Plus is a compilation of video games in the Sonic the Hedgehog series from the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and Game Gear so they can be played on the Sony PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Xbox consoles. This edition is an update of Sonic Mega Collection for the Nintendo GameCube, and now includes Game Gear games, two non-Sonic games that were only Japan-exclusive in the original Mega Collection, updated illustrations, a new menu interface, and a mid-game saving feature. It is infamous for it's time-consuming, pointless goals which have to be met in order to unlock the bonus games, involving constantly entering and exiting certain games up to 50 times.

Release information[]

The game was released on November 2, 2004 in North America, December 9, 2004 in Japan, and February 4, 2005 in Europe. A PC port was released in March 31, 2006 in Europe.
