Rabbid Mario is a Rabbid dressed as Mario, and one of the eight main heroes in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. He was created when Spawny used the SupaMerge to fuse a Rabbid with a Mario cap. In Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Rabbid Mario teams up with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Luigi, and Rabbid Yoshi to save the Mushroom Kingdom from Rabbid-fused enemies and Bowser Jr.'s attempted takeover.

Profile[]

Physical description[]

Rabbid[]

Rabbid Mario has white fur everywhere except inside his rabbit-like ears, around his mouth, on his belly, paws, and under his feet, showing pale skin. He usually has blue eyes, but when in an adrenaline rush, his eyes turn red, which is his most notable feature. He has paws with one opposable thumb on each paw and no fingers. He also has buck teeth and feet with no toes.

After being fused[]

Rabbid Mario now has overalls and the Mario Cap. Also, unlike Rabbid Luigi, he has Mario's mustache. Other than that, he still has his Rabbid features.

Personality[]

Rabbid Mario is the Big Guy of the group. He is physically the strongest player in the game (before Bowser joined in). Arrogant and hot-headed, Rabbid Mario takes great pride in his strength and appearance and is also extremely tough. He is courageous, righteous and adventurous, always laughing in the face of a challenge. Rabbid Mario seems to think of himself as a jock, since he shouts MVP.

Rabbid Mario also shares traits with his Rabbid brothers, playful, mischievous, curious, and reckless.

He is somewhat of a show-off, boasting about his strength. Rabbid Mario also seems to have an interest in music, since he always carries a mandolin around with him, which is both seen in-game and his victory animation. A true part of Rabbid Mario's personality has been revealed in the second game; he is a hopeless romantic, wooing (and failing) Edge multiple times. However, despite the fact that he is underappreciated, Rabbid Mario always remains loyal to his friends.

Powers and abilities[]

In Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, he is described as a Brawler with great offense and mobility, but poor defense. His primary weapon is a Boomshot, and his secondary weapon is a Melee, making him effective at close-range combat and area attacks compared to his Nintendo counterpart Mario. Rabbid Mario has the Boom Dash which causes shockwaves whenever he hits a foe, (which also causes damage to any ally caught in the radius) for a percentage inflicted on the main target (Using Mario's M power makes it stronger). He also has two abilities, the Bodyguard which projects a barrier around him to protect against movement-based attacks such as enemy dashes and ground pounds (added with Peach's Protection will reduce damage from both weapon and movement-based damage) and the second is the Magnet Dance, which can make enemies approach Rabbid Mario, which will cause any active Line-of-Sight to activate and the ally to attack their foes and forced movement abilities and or weapons that have a greater chance at inflicting Bounce, Burn, or Push.

In Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Rabbid Mario now uses a new combat-like weapon called The Dukes, which are steel-like gauntlets that can even hit enemies behind full cover. Rabbid Mario has a Technique called Counter Blow which will cause Rabbid Mario to retaliate by striking back if an enemy attacks him.

Earth[]

Rabbid Mario was once an ordinary Rabbid who traveled through the Time Washing Machine with the other Rabbids. He arrived with them in the basement of the Genius Girl and her robot assistant Beep-0 where they began to cause chaos and the Rabbid tries on a red Mario hat and eventually becomes the third living subject of the SupaMerge caused by Spawny and became Rabbid Mario. Spawny accidentally caused the Time Machine to pull the Rabbids into it along with a Super Mario poster, which then transports the Rabbids into the Mushroom Kingdom.

Ancient Gardens[]

Rabbid Mario's only appearance during the first chapter was that he was somehow frozen in a block of ice as he and the Rabbids first land into the Mushroom Kingdom and isn't seen for a while.

Sherbet Desert[]

While the heroes were solving the puzzles and fighting the corrupted Rabbids, they find Rabbid Mario and proceed to free him from the ice block and he meets Mario and does not hesitate to play the mandolin in the famous Super Mario Bros. theme, amusing Mario. However, as they travel further Bowser Jr. intimidates Spawny into creating Sandy and Blizzy, the latter who would freeze the heroes until Princess Peach arrived to free them from the blocks of ice and defeat the creatures to free the third member.

Spooky Trails[]

The heroes head to Spooky Trails where they find the Moon Gate locked in place and they must find the Relics of Goodness, a gramophone and a Boo-shaped balloon, under the instruction of a mysterious third party who wants them to wake up a being named "Tom Phan" who they claim has the power to defeat Bowser Jr. Once they find the relics but did not open the gate, they learn that they need a full moon to open the gate. They find Calavera holding Rabbid Yoshi hostage and they get into a fight with it, eventually freeing their new comrade, who gets his needed vengeance. They reach the clock tower and turn it back to bring the full moon into position, finally opening the gate. Bowser Jr. awaited beyond the gate and had Spawny fuse a Rabbid with the Relics of Goodness to create the Phantom, who then sings an insulting song about Mario and his series, which they then defeat him.

Lava Pit[]

They head to the Lava Pit, where this discovered that Bowser Jr. had turned the volcano into his base of operations and is full of stronger foes unlike anything they have ever seen. They find Bowser Jr. in the Mecha Jr. and quickly gets into a battle with them but is defeated. As a result, Spawny is tossed out and falls to his apparent doom, much to Jr.'s horror and he fled. Fortunately, Spawny was saved by Yoshi and the former is remorseful for his previous actions and hopes to set things right. However, as they try to leave the crystal caves, Spawny is attracted to the Megabug's energy and the now phoenix shaped Megabug absorbs Spawny and flies towards Bowser's Castle. Bowser Jr. criticizes the heroes for their carelessness of Spawny but gets a text from his father that he is returning home from vacation early, much to his horror as he hurries home. After they defeat Bwario and Bwaluigi and the Lava Queen, they reach Bowser's Castle where Jr. was pleading for the heroes to save Bowser, who was fused with the Megabug to become MegaDragonBowser. After a long tough battle, the Megabug was purged, and the heroes combine their ammunition to destroy it before it could attack them. Spawny is also freed and Jr. promises that he will improve and asks if they could speak with Bowser on his behalf to sort the recent events out. The heroes return to Princess Peach's Castle where they inaugurated a statue of Rabbid Peach as they celebrate.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope[]

Mushroom Kingdom (Prologue)[]

Rabbid Mario had his overalls taken from him and he was hiding in a bush to avoid being seen, so Princess Peach assigns Mario and Rabbid Peach to search for his overalls. Once they find the overalls, they return them to Rabbid Mario, who puts them back on and is able to leave the bush. Rabbid Luigi was revealed to be the culprit behind it, and Rabbid Mario thinks that he wants to be like him, but only one of them can look good in alternatives to pants. Just as everyone was about to have a relaxing day, a Spark named Starburst collides with Mario and the Darkmess Manta arrives and infects the Mushroom Kingdom with the substance called Darkmess and Rabbid Peach is kidnapped, as everyone but Peach and Mario panic, as the princess helps the latter board the Manta. Rabbid Mario and the others board the WM ARC and enter the Darkmess Dimension where they rescue Mario, Rabbid Peach, and Beep-0 from Cursa and barely managed to escape shortly after.

Everyone is happy to see that the trio are safe, and JEANIE is introduced as Beep-0's creation. Once Starburst enters, JEANIE analyzes that these creatures were fusions of Rabbids and Lumas, which Princess Peach states that Rosalina would never allow this to happen, which Starburst exclaims that she went missing because of Cursa and pleads them to help her. Beep-0 begins discussing potential names for them and was about to call them Rabbid Lumas, which Rabbid Mario is critical of, and they all agree to call them Sparks, with Beep-0 assuming that with the Sparks at their side, Cursa won't bother them again.

Beacon Beach[]

When they arrive at Beacon Beach, which is suffering from perpetual rainfall, they are almost attacked by its warden, Augie, who believed them to be invaders, with Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Peach laughing at him. Augie tells them to leave, but they state that they are heroes and want to help out, and he shows them that the lighthouse has been infected with the Darkmess Tentacle that is preventing light from shining on the beach and the local Rabbids civilians are trapped inside their homes due to the presence of Bob-ombs. Once the Bob-ombs were taken care of, one of the Rabbids release a Spark named Twinkle, who flees to a beacon, making the Sunrise Temple emerge from the water and heads inside. Rabbid Mario and his friends follow it inside, unaware that an ominous Rabbid followed them inside. As they get past the temple's obstacles, they catch up with Twinkle, who was scared of them, until they assure it that they are friendly until the Darkmess Tentacle snags it. After going through the first phase of the battle to reach it, Twinkle is suddenly pursued by the Stooges and two of them block the way, but they were immediately defeated by Rabbid Mario. Just as the Stooges were about to catch Twinkle, the Flying Blade splashes out of the waterfall and slays it before it returns to its owner, who walks out confidently and gestures disapprovingly before going all out against them when they attempt to attack her. Rabbid Mario immediately falls in love with her as she slays the last Stooge and continues to admire her as she coaxes Twinkle in an assuring way, before they have to deal with the Giant Wildclaw. With the Darkmess Tentacle destroyed, Beep-0 informs the ominous looking Rabbid that they need Twinkle to reactivate the lighthouse and Augie arrives to congratulate them, but becomes scared upon seeing the dark Rabbid, calling her a Spark Hunter. The Rabbid corrects him by introducing herself as Edge and insists on being called just that and takes up the offer to join them to help save the galaxy. They head to the lighthouse where they destroyed the Darkmess Tentacle, restoring light to the planet. Augie warns them about Cursa's ringleaders known as the Spark Hunters, and threatened the inhabitants if he doesn't give them the Sparks and they assure him that they will deal with them.

Pristine Peaks[]

They head to Pristine Peaks where they noticed that it was suffering from extreme cold and a harsh blizzard that threatens all life and to become an uninhabitable wasteland. After landing, they make their way up the mountain to deal with the Darkmess Tentacle that is affecting the weather. Once it is destroyed, the storm came to an end and as everyone makes snowmen, Rabbid Mario makes a muscular snowman with himself as a head, an obvious attempt to impress Edge, which didn't work and noticed that the path to Winter Palace has opened. They free Captain Orion, who is worried over the safety of the young girl trapped within. They run into a ghost Rabbid named Midnite, which Edge confirms that this Rabbid is one of Cursa's Spark Hunters. After a few more encounters, they confront her at the library where the Darkmess Tentacle was and are surprised that Midnite is paying special attention to Edge and learn that they know each other, though Edge stops the conversation. As they go through the tentacle, Captain Orion is immediately captured when he tried to approach Rabbid Rosalina, prompting the latter to fight back. After Midnite is defeated, Rabbid Rosalina is reunited with Captain Orion and Rabbid Luigi pulls his hand away in disgust when Rabbid Mario tries to high-five him after spitting on his own hand, resulting in him falling down. Edge spares Midnite, who flees sorrowfully. Rabbid Rosalina was reluctant on the thought of joining the heroes, since she wants to find Rosalina, the person she desires to meet, but chooses to since they are also searching for the same person and vows to make Captain Orion proud.

Palette Prime[]

Rabbid Mario takes part in the meeting as they approach Palette Prime, known for its wondrous autumn nature, however, it too fell victim to the Darkmess that Cursa caused, and it caused the forest to be drained of color and valor and Paletteville is under attack. The heroes were able to destroy the Darkmess Tentacle, they head through the shortcut through the basement in Woodrow's house, allowing them to enter the town and they find that the town was endangered by two brawlers, Bowser and Bedrock who are locked in a fight and it wasn't long before they noticed familiar faces; Bowser seeing Mario and Bedrock seeing Edge, and Bowser headbutts her before being thrown into the tentacle with her following him. With her unfamiliarity with Bowser, Edge asks about him, but is asked by Rabbid Mario about Bedrock, whom she confirms that the latter is a Spark Hunter and denies having any connection with her. Beep-0 explains that Bowser wasn't a friend since he kidnaps Peach a lot and feuds with Mario and his friends in general. They head to the Darkmess Tentacle to aid Bowser and grants him the Bowzooka to give him an advantage. Once Bedrock is defeated, she escapes on the ship that arrived. Bowser explains his presence that he is looking for Cursa, since it brainwashed his minions, and he wants them back.

Terra Flora[]

As they approach Terra Flora, JEANIE reveals that they are now in range of Cursa's Stronghold but runs into a problem that it is well protected by a barrier that deters intruders. After Beep-0 ends up upsetting Edge when he asks a personal question that she isn't willing to answer, he changes the topic to focusing on Terra Flora. Once they arrive, they noticed that Terra Flora is suffering from a drought that threatens floral life and with Bea's guidance, she directs them to the train engineer Sullivan, who gives them a ride on the Wiggler Train to reach Mt. Spout, a water volcano that brings the planet life. A real Wiggler infested with Darkmess pursues them in hot rage and Rabbid Mario is scared enough to jump into Edge's arms, shocking her while Sullivan speeds up the train, but Wiggler catches up again, forcing them to fight back. After escaping from it, they arrived at Mt. Spout where they destroyed the Darkmess Tentacle there, allowing the water volcano to erupt with most of the heroes trapped in bubbles before they naturally fall free. Bea tells them that Momma, the warden at Barrendale Mesa would help with making a weapon that would help deal with the shields.

Barrendale Mesa[]

The heroes make their way to Barrendale Mesa where it was once full of abundant life until the Rabbids arrived and used up all the resources before departing, while JEANIE points out that Momma is still living on the planet, and she might create a Shield Breaker to deal with the barrier around Cursa's Stronghold, which happens to be close by. Edge becomes anxious about having to potentially confront the most devious of the Spark Hunters. Due to the electric storm, the WM ARC is unable to properly land meaning that they would have to freefall from high ground. Rabbid Peach, Luigi, Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Luigi, and Rabbid Rosalina land on a giant balloon, but Bowser's sharp claws end up destroying it. Their entrance has annoyed Momma, whose garage is closed due to harsh weather conditions and instructs them to head to the malfunctioning windmill if they were that serious about getting her help and points out that they could have prepared parachutes instead. Once the windmill is repaired, they receive a transition from "Momma" who tells them to return to the garage, but once they do, they find out that it was a trap and "Momma" was really Daphne in disguise and traps them in the Darkmess Dimension, but they each managed to beat her. Cursa then arrives to confront the heroes but ends up immobilized and with an explosion of light, Rosalina herself emerges, to Rabbid Rosalina's joy as Rosalina uses her wand to open a portal for them to escape before she is recorrupted by Cursa and Edge leads everyone out of the Dimension. With everyone disoriented with Rosalina's true fate, with how the events through a Purified Darkmess Crystal revealing what kick started the events, Momma assures them that they are united, hope is on their side, and Rosalina is counting on them.

Melodic Gardens[]

In The Last Spark Hunter, as they make their way to Cursa's stronghold, they find that Melodic Gardens have gone silent, and they change course to investigate what was happening there. After saving the members, they meet with Allegra who is the warden of the planet, who explains that the silence is threatening Melodic Garden's existence and one of the Spark Hunters is responsible for its state, which left Edge confused as she states that they have defeated all of them. Upon meeting Kanya, Edge states that she does not know who she is at all. Sometime later, after getting past all the obstacles, Rabbid Mario ends up crying in despair as Allegra is comforting a Dorrie who is trapped in a cage, who is a special friend. They help Allegra free Dorrie and work with her to defeat Kanya once and for all. Allegra is grateful for their work and restored harmony to the planet. They leave to Cursa's stronghold.

Cursa's Stronghold[]

The team used the Shield Breakers to destroy the barrier around Cursa's Stronghold which reveals that it was the Comet Observatory, to everyone's horror over how low Cursa went to attack the symbol of hope in the galaxy. They land on the debris of the shields where they find Darkmess Puddles, one containing Darkmess Bowser and the other containing Darkmess Edge. After defeating all of them, Rabbid Mario is shocked to learn that Edge was created by Cursa and the former leader of the Spark Hunters, but due to Edge's heroism, Rabbid Mario humorously tells her about when she "nearly fainted at the sight of his enormous biceps", to everyone's chagrin as he changes it to her still caring about the Spark Hunters. During the battle with Cursa, they destroy its hands and attack the broken star until it couldn't contain the drained Sparks, releasing them as well as Rosalina, who then partakes in the battle. With Cursa being weakened further, Rabbid Rosalina stands in-between her friends and Cursa, but the drained Sparks do their part and turn themselves into a laser to severely wound Cursa and the heroes all combine their strength along with Rosalina merging them into a single golden arrow to completely annihilate the entity once and for all.

Mushroom Kingdom (Epilogue)[]

Rosalina is completely grateful to the heroes for their help in saving her and the galaxy and she even restored the lost energy to the Sparks who fell victim to Cursa, proving that energy cannot be destroyed, but altered. Both Rabbid Rosalina and Edge choose to stay with the heroes when offered to join her on the Comet Observatory. Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Luigi, and Rabbid Peach are toying around with a grumpy Bowser, which Mario tries to stop them, but was too late when Bowser unleashes a fire ball to throw them off.

The Tower of Doooom[]

When it was revealed that Spawny, one of the heroes' old friends was imprisoned in a place that belongs to Madame Bwahstrella, called The Tower of Doooom, Rabbid Mario and his friends head through ten floors and after defeating the giant enemy on the tenth floor Spawny is freed and has gained the confidence to go on his own, knowing that his friends will have his back in his time of need.

Rayman in the Phantom Show[]

Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Peach, and Beep-0 enter the Space Opera Network after they gained gold tickets to take part on stage. It was there where they meet Rayman, who arrived on a rocket, but Rayman was wary of them, due to his bad experience with their kind, but Beep-0 assures them that the two of them are docile and after dealing with some of the remnants of Cursa's minions, Rayman became somewhat more comfortable around them. They end up meeting the Phantom of the Bwahpera again, whom they haven't seen since their encounter in Spooky Trails, and he explains that he was under the control of the Megabug and has turned to the side of good and wanted to help the Space Opera Network become a popular show again after years of disaster and the recent Darkmess infestation was not helping, and they can help get rid of the Darkmess in all three sets. After they managed to clear the Darkmess in the Pirate, Western, and Medieval sets, the Phantom congratulates them and invites them to the floor below them, but Rayman believes that something was wrong. When they arrive at the basement, the Phantom reveals that he truly was setting them up secretly, so he can get back at them for his previous defeat and to draw power from viewership. During the last battle, the Phantom sings a degrading song about Rayman losing his fame to the Rabbids and later gives the same treatment to Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Mario, and Beep-0, but with them turning off the lights, they defeated the Phantom once again. Rayman is happy to actually be fighting alongside the Rabbids for once instead of against them like he always did. Due to them becoming civilized, Rayman decides to stay at the Space Opera Network so he can help keep the Rabbids in line and keep their moral compasses straight, while Beep-0, Rabbid Peach, and Rabbid Mario return to the Mushroom Kingdom. Before they leave, Rabbid Peach gives Rayman a Mario Cap while Rayman gives the Rabbids a copy of his hoodie.
