Power Rangers in Space is the name of the sixth season of the Power Rangers series produced by Saban Entertainment. This season was broadcast in 1998 and consisted of 43 episodes.
Power Rangers in Space was based on the Sentai show Gohar Sentai Megaranger. Now also went the story continues where the previous season, Power Rangers: Turbo, left off. Power Rangers in Space marked a turning point in the history of Power Rangers. The series brought the storyline that already from the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers ran to an end. Power Rangers in Space was also one of the most popular series of all.

Background[Edit][]
By the bad reactions from fans who got Power Rangers Turbo, Saban Entertainment had to the Power Rangers in Space with an extra low budget do. Saban threatened even with the Power Ranger series to have to stop when the ratings went up not again soon. Because Power Rangers: In Space, therefore, would be the last season of the series, decided to make a grand finale of Saban in which the ongoing story line that has been around since the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers ran would be brought to an end.
The decision to play the story itself in space came through a communication error between Toei and Saban. After Saban a few sketches of the MegaRangers and their Mecha had seen they thought was going on in the space and Gohar Sentai Megaranger started to write a script around this idea. Saban, however, forgot to ask about the storyline more details Toei of Megaranger. When Saban discovered that Megaranger was going on on Earth simply was too late to change the plans yet. Therefore, a large part of the already low budget used to create new battle scenes to film. The footage from the Sentai series Megaranger was with the computer a bit different colored to give the impression that this took place on another planet.
There were two team-up episodes made. One in which Justin Stewart from Power Rangers and one with Adam Park, the black Mighty Morphin Ranger and green Zeo + Turbo Ranger. The Phantom Ranger also popped for in Power Ranges in Space. There was even an episode planned in which his identity finally revealed, but by budget constraints had to be deleted.
PRIS was the first Power Ranger series with a storyline that by episode on episode went through and there were plot twists in for that never before in a Power Ranger series were used. It was also the first series in which the Red Ranger received a power-up in the form of a Battlizer. This would be standard for every next Power Ranger series. (In season 16, Power Rangers: Jungle Fury got the Red Ranger for the first time since 10 years no Battlizer.)
Another darkonda was by the sympathetic and especially different enemies as Astronema and Ecliptor. Astronema was later found in the series ' lost sister Karone Andros who as a child was abducted by Darkonda.
All these things contributed to the fact that Power rangers: In Space the most successful of all power ranger series was.
Story Line[Edit][]
Continued from Power Rangers Turbo
After a long journey through space, the four former Turbo Rangers along a large spaceship. Their space shuttle is attracted by the ship. On board, they meet the Red Space Ranger Andros, an alien from the planet KO-35. He is recently witnessed the creation of the United Aliance of Evil in which Dark Specter has all the old enemies of the Rangers United under his command. Andros discredit the newcomers at first, but after they help him to save his ship by a new enemy, Astronema, he gives them a trio of detention so that they themselves also be Astro Space Rangers.
Andros tells the four that he has seen how Dark Specter has captured Zordon and now intends to absorb his strength. The five Rangers find Zordon should before it's too late. However, because Astronema to earth are the Rangers most of the time working to save the planet and do not come to searching.
During their quest, they meet some old friends including the Phantom Ranger Andros gives the Delta Megazord. A while later WINS Andros in an alien Casino a few Zordon's key cards that provide access to the Rangers the Mega Voyager.
Discover the Rangers in a secret area of the Mega ship the silver Ranger Andros, Zhane which cryogenic is frozen after he severely injured in combat. He wakes up later and helps the others. They also find a few other survivors of KO-35 which build the Mega Winger for Zhane.
To Andros ' surprise turns out to be his long-lost sister Karone Astronema. After she begins to doubt comes here behind Astronema her fate as Dark Specter's LaTeX super-hero uniform right hand. They close itself even with the Rangers, but is kidnapped by Darkonda and placed under its control.
In the last two episodes entitled "Countdown to Destruction" gives Dark Specter ordered conquest of the universe. The Machine Empire fights against Blue Senturion comes and Phantom Ranger. Divatox and her army when Tommy learns of the planet to attack and defeat the Alien Rangers. Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd open the attack on Triforia and Trey, the gold Ranger, is caught. Astronema focuses its attention on the Earth. The Rangers lose in the fight the Delta Megazord, Mega Voyager and Mega Winger and are forced to retreat. Meanwhile steals Darkonda a weapon that was to blow up the Earth and used this against Dark Specter. He comes also to himself. Astronema appoints himself to the Queen of evil after this.
Andros decision Astronema's ship to intrude in the hope that he can convince her to stop. The other five Rangers fight as long you still can against the invasion. Andros finds Zordon, Astronema's also on board ship who are still trapped in an energy capsule. He orders him to destroy the capsule so that its energy can liberate the golf universe of Dark Specter's armies. Andros is however stopped by Astronema and enters the fight with her, which he accidentally her death. He destroys this Zordon's capsule. The energy wave released changes all the helpers by Dark Specter in sand. Only Divatox, Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd survive, but are changed by the wave in ordinary people, no longer bad. However, this last action Zordon survives.
Once back on Earth, it appears that the energy wave Astronema and Dark Specter's influence has brought back to life on her deleted it. She is again Karone.

- Andros/red Space Ranger : Andros is an alien from the planet KO-35. He has been around for years in search of his lost sister Karone. Andros is a serious leader and also features psychic gifts.
- Theodore j. Jarvis "TJ" Johnson/Blue Space Ranger: the former Red Turbo Ranger. He led the team into space where they met Andros.
- Carlos Vallerte/Black Space Ranger: the former Green Turbo Ranger. He slowly takes on board the Mega ship the role as technical advisor in itself.
- Cassie Chan/Pink Space Ranger: the former Pink Turbo Ranger.
- Ashley Hammond/Yellow Space Ranger: the former Yellow Turbo Ranger. She is the support of the team and always good-humored.
- Zhane/Silver Space Ranger: an old friend of Andros who seriously injured got into a fight when KO-35 was attacked. The Rangers find him cryogenically frozen aboard the Mega ship. By his many years of recovery are his Ranger forces weakened making him at the beginning but very short the silver Ranger can continue. After he is hit by lightning is recharged his morpher.

- Alpha 6: alpha 6 was the robot Assistant by Dimitria. He went with the Rangers into the space and makes the mega ship his new home.
- D. e. c. (A): d. e. c. A is the on-board computer of the Mega ship.
- Zordon: the mentor of the first Power Rangers, now a prisoner of Dark Spectre. In the final he sacrifices himself to save the universe.
- Bulk & Skull: Bulk and Skull are now working as helpers of professor Phenomenus.
- Professor Phenomenus: a crazy scholar who wants to discover the cost cost of extraterrestrial life.
- Phantom Ranger: he is also looking for Zordon. At his meeting with the Rangers he gives Andros the Delta Megazord. In the final he fights along with Blue Senturion comes against the Machine Empire.
- Justin Stewart/Blue Turbo Ranger: Justin to help the Rangers after they are captured by Astronema. Apparently had its old Turbo Morpher still enough power for one last change.
- Adam Park/Black Mighty Morphin Ranger: after Cassie accidentally injured Carlos in a fight he begins to doubt himself. Adam helps him back on top and even risks his life by his old black ranger coin, which was damaged after the destruction of the Thunderzords, to use.
- Alien Rangers: fighting in the final against Divatox and her army.
- Blue Senturion comes: fight in the finals along with Phantom Ranger against the Machine Empire.
- Trey/gold Ranger: fights in the final against Rita and Zedd.

Aliance or the United Evil consists of all the old enemies of the Power Rangers, United by Dark Specter.
- Dark Specter: known as the Supreme ruler of evil. He was responsible for the attack on Eltar. He loves his powers to adsorb as Zordon caught with plan. He is destroyed by Darkonda with a weapon that was intended for the Earth.
- Astronema: Dark Specter's right hand. It turns out to be sister Karone Andros. Years back, she was kidnapped by Darkonda and Ecliptor raised to be the Princess of evil. She joins the Rangers after they discovered the truth, but is referred to by Darkonda and Dark Specter recalled to the side of evil. In the final, she again Karone.
- Ecliptor: Astronema's ruthless and most loyal Warrior. He is a master swordsman. He considered Astronema as his own daughter and does everything to protect her. When she connected to the Rangers, he followed her. He is like them by Dark Specter again placed under its control. Ecliptor dies by destroyed the energy tube of Zordon, golf.
- Darkonda: Darkonda Karone kidnapped when she was a child. He is a traitor who only thinks of himself. He undertakes a attempt to destroy Dark Specter, but also comes in itself.
- Elgar: Divatox ' cousin. He was by Dark Spectre assigned to Astronema, to her chagrin. He is destroyed by destroyed the energy tube of Zordon, golf.
- Psycho Rangers: a group of ruthless robots that were made by Astronema as counterparts of Power Rangers. Each Psycho Ranger also has a monster form. The Rangers manage to defeat them one at a time, but they return back later. They are again defeated when they are turned into Data cards with a special machine. However, they return again back in Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy.
- Quantrons: Astronema's soldiers.

- NASADA space shuttle: the space shuttle with which the four old Turbo Rangers cleans up in traveled.
- Delta Mega ship/Delta Megazord: Andros gets it by the Phantom Ranger. This spaceship can turn into a second megazord.
- Astro Delta Megazord: the combination of the Astro Megazord and the Delta Megazord.
- Mega V spacecrafts/Mega Voyager: the Mega V spacecrafts are five zords created by Zordon. They stood on one of Jupiter's moons. The Rangers were given access to these zords by Zordon's key cards.The five zords can transform into the Mega Voyager.

- The Mega Winger and Mega Voyager, the first two zords/arsenal without the word "Zord" in their name, but whose name is directly taken from the Sentai version.
- The end fight between Andros and Astronema is equal to the end of Gosei Sentai Dairanger the Sentai Series in which also the Red Ranger in the finals only fights against the main enemy of the series.
- This was the last series which took place in the fictional town of Angel Grove.
- This was the last series with the duo Bulk & Skull. However, in the following Bulk did series Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy.
- This was the first series with a Ranger who themselves had special forces (Andros was telekinetic gifted).
- Many fans wonder why Adam risked his life by his damaged Black Ranger coin to use while he also just its Green zeo morpher could have used.
- This was the first series since Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in which the Rangers use weapons that did not appear in the Sentai version.
- The series featured a crossover with Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation, a lesser known series by Saban based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics.
