Role in The World of Bobby[]
Paddy is the athletic but humorous best friend of Bobby Pechman. He is portrayed as being an appreciative 20 year old man, who serves as the martial artist. He holds the martial arts except for several very brief stints working at the Krusty Burger and Chum Tory in a variety of positions, and mostly spends his time either clowning around with Bobby, catching jellyfish with him, or lounging inside the house where he resides.
At home Paddy is usually depicted either sleeping, watching TV, or engaged in the martial arts, at which he is an expert. Aside from his best friend Bobby, who is often impressed by Paddy's capacity to come up with naïve yet genius plans or solutions, Paddy frequently irritates those around him and is confounded by the simplest of questions or subjects. The characters of Jeffrey and Edward have no patience for Patrick's stupidity, and the former does not pay him much regard; James Johnson-Brown, who provides Jeffrey' voice, said, "The only person that he [Mr. Krabs] doesn't hire is Paddy because Paddy is just too stupid to work for nothing." Sandra often gets annoyed by Paddy, but still sees him as a friend.
