Dembow was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Brian Dembow and Emily Greenstein. His father is of African-American, Cherokee Native American, Cornish, Dutch, English, French-Canadian, German, Greek, Irish, Northern Irish (Scotch-Irish), Powhatan Native American, Scottish, Swedish, Swiss and Welsh descent and His mother is English Jewish (from Belarus, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Russia and Ukraine).
