Lucas Lorenzo "Lucky" Spencer, Jr. is a fictional character on the ABC daytime soap opera General Hospital. He is the son of legendary supercouple Luke Spencer and Laura Webber.

The role was first originated by Jonathan Jackson from October 29, 1993 to May 24, 1999.

In early 2000, Jackson stated that he would have loved to reprise the role but his schedule would not allow it, so the role was recast with Jacob Young on February 25, 2000 and he remained with the series until February 10, 2003.

Greg Vaughan then took over the role on February 20, 2003 until he was let go on October 20, 2009, with Jackson returning as Lucky from October 27, 2009 until December 23, 2011.

Jackson made a short return as Lucky from July 6 to July 14, 2015 as part of Anthony Geary's (Luke Spencer) exit storyline.

Jackson returned as Lucky on August 23, 2024.

Background[]

Lucky Spencer is born in Texas off-screen on August 19, 1985 to Luke and Laura Spencer. Lucky's birth year is revised to 1983 when he first appears on-screen at the age of 10 in October 1993.

His date of birth is revised again in May 2011, when it appears on his marriage license as July 15, 1979.

Lucky's character is a bit of a paradox, described as having qualities from both of his parents: Luke's edge and wildness and Laura's purity and innocence.

He has three sons with his ex-wife, Nurse Elizabeth Webber: adoptive son, Cameron (the biological son of the late Zander Smith), legal son, Jake (the biological son of the former mob boss, Jason Morgan) and his first and currently only biological child, Aiden.

Lucky and his longtime love, Elizabeth, first reached supercouple status in their teens as Lucky Spencer and Elizabeth Webber. Their romance has enraptured audiences for decades.

As an adult, he worked for several years in law enforcement as a detective for the Port Charles Police Department. Since returning to town in 2024, he shared with Sonny Corinthos that his father, Luke, was right to warn him against joining the force. Law enforcement is not for him and he has no interest in returning.
