Kryptonians are race of humanoid aliens, visually indistinguishable from Humans. The only real differences to them are their abilities under a yellow sun or possibly blue sun/star. But they are also more powerful than their Daxamite counterparts.
Powers[]
- Kryptonian Physiology: Kryptonian cellular structure is much more dense, resilient, and biologically more effective than human tissue. They do not possess superhuman strength levels despite their enhanced cellular ability without their cellular structure charged with yellow solar energy. Without such charging, their physical capabilities are identical to a human of their height and weight who engages in regular physical activity. As aliens, they possesses several organs whose functions are not yet disclosed or understood, but are believed to be part of or the source of their bio-matrix force field and reclamation aura. Kryptonians' bodies also store energy actively within their bio-cellular matrix as an energy pattern which is linked to their body's electromagnetic field. This energy powers most of their electromagnetic capabilities such as flight, heat vision and other "sight"-based abilities while supplementing their physical abilities to superhuman levels.
- Solar Radiation/Energy Absorption / Solar Battery (Variation of Absorption): Kryptonians' cells absorb yellow solar energy, and this in turn, fuel sall of their powers and abilities. Their cells also store solar energy as well, allowing them to retain their powers under roofed structures or even at night, although they eventually need a yellow sun to recharge their powers. Kryptonians can also absorb solar energies of other class stars.

- Vast Superhuman Strength: Kryptonians can lift vast weights. They are able to lift tons (or lift both infinity & eternity) over their head with great ease, as well as break through Green Lantern constructs. They possess strength capable of matching that of New Gods like Darkseid.
- Godlike Stamina: They have the ability to maintain continuous physical actions for an undefined period. Kryptonians are shown to have unlimited stamina if they are consistently exposed to Earth sunlight. If constantly exposed to a yellow / blue sun, Kryptonians possess nearly limitless stamina.
- Self-Sustenance: They do not need to eat or sleep (but are still capable of doing so) and don't require oxygen to breathe, enabling them to travel in space and underwater unprotected. So long as they have solar energy in their bodies, Kryptonians don't need to eat, drink or breathe for long periods of time.

- Superhuman Speed: Kryptonians can run and fly at speeds faster than a military aircraft. They can move at super/hyper sonic speeds, but are not as fast as beings like Speedsters. They can use their speeds to easily disarm opponents and effectively use speed in combat.

- Telescopic Vision: Kryptonians have the ability to focus their vision to see something at a great distance, without violating the laws of physics.
- Microscopic Vision: The ability to see extremely small objects and images down to the sub atomic level.
- X-Ray Vision: Kryptonians can see through anything but lead. Kryptonians are able to focus his vision past layers of matter, literally seeing "through" them, possibly perceiving x-rays which pass through Earth's atmosphere (and solid objects) after emission from stars.

Basically giving them kryptonian like abilities while under a yellow sun for a brief duration of time. This power can only be accessed while under a blue sun however, as it is the focal point of a Kryptonian's new ability development.

Kara stated that advanced calculus was taught in preschool, and even then it was an easy subject. They are able to quickly gasp and understand technology which is not Kryptonian.

They can assimilate, perceive, comprehend, and calculate the mechanics of any and all information, including new languages and technology in very short periods of time. From this, they can learn lifetimes worth of knowledge and academics within days and no loss of information. They can also use the information to cross-correlate and multitask with no problems.

Weaknesses[]
- Kryptonite: A radioactive piece of their home world, Kryptonians are vulnerable to radiation it emits. The effects are almost instantaneous, which result in slow and painful power loss, which will result in death if exposed for prolonged periods.
- Green Kryptonite: Kryptonians exposed to green Kryptonite, will become weakened and dizzy within close proximity or by being pierced by weapons laced with the element. Its radiation removes their invulnerability and leaving them weaker than humans. Green Kryptonite weakens their physical attributes, leaving them vulnerable to weapons and anything in general that can kill a normal human, while mere prolonged exposure can be enough to kill them.
- Red Kryptonite: Unlike the common green Kryptonite known for draining and potentially killing a Kryptonian, red Kryptonite doesn't have this ability. This type strips any Kryptonian exposed to it of their inhibitions. Example of this is if a Kryptonian usually never murders or steals, this will cause them to act without fail. Once it's been removed however, they usually revert back to their former selves.
- Blue Kryptonite: A reversal of green Kryptonite, blue Kryptonite has no real effect on a Kryptonian, however it does have the same effect on Bizarro as green Kryptonite does on any other Kryptonian. It's effects on Bizarro remained, but also stripped any Kryptonian of their powers, but made them immune to the effects of green kryptonite. It also enhanced the heal of any human exposed to it.
- Magno-Kryptonite: A form of Kryptonite capable of pulling anything of Kryptonian origin to it. Even the strength of Superman or Bizarro are incapable of breaking from it's grasp.
- Gold Kryptonite: A rare form of Kryptonite, gold causes any Kryptonian exposed to it to be permanently stripped of their powers, making them as normal as a human.
- Black Kryptonite: Another rare form of Kryptonite, black causes a Kryptonian's personality to become split between both a good and evil side.
- Silver Kryptonite: Another rare form of kryptonite comes in the form of silver. This version, rather than restore the powers of a Kryptonian exposed to gold kryptonite, it actually can cause them to begin hallucinating and become mentally unstable.
- Pink Kryptonite: Another rare form comes in pink. Originally, pink kryptonite caused Kryptonians exposed to it to begin having homosexual tendencies. When Superman was exposed to a piece of it, this caused him to actually change his gender into that of a woman with no other side effects.
- Anti-Kryptonite: Another rare form of Kryptonite, Anti-Kryptonite has the same effect on non-superpowered Kryptonians as green Kryptonite has on superpowered Kryptonians.
- Unobtainium Manipulation
- Magic: Kryptonian invulnerability offers no protection against magic-based attacks. This is due to their bio-matrix incapable of processing the chaotic nature of the energy magic gives off.
- Solar energy depletion: Using a power like heat vision to its maximum for an extended period can significantly drain solar energy to the point where a super-powered Kryptonian loses all of his/her powers and is rendered more humans like for at least a day. This renders them as weak as normal humans, allowing them to get injured and killed as easy as killing an Earth creature.
- Red Sun Energy: Because they evolved under a red sun, Kryptonians possess none of their abilities under it. So long as they are exposed to the energy, they are as normal as any human.
- Solar Energy Dependency: Kryptonians need to maintain their exposure to solar energy to maintain their powers, otherwise their powers will fade.
- Beings of Equal Power - Beings of comparable incalculable superhuman might, such as other Kryptonians, can generate enough force that can knock out, injure and even kill Kryptonians, breaking through their invulnerability without the need of kryptonite.
- Metahumans: Though they can withstand a great deal of abuse, Kryptonians are not invincible to certain metahumans. These beings usually have strength that can match and even surpass a Kryptonian's.
- Lead: A Kryptonian's x-ray vision can see through virtually any element with the exception of lead. Ironically enough, lead is their only defense against Kryptonite radiation.
- Psionics: Most Kryptonians no matter how powerful they may be, are highly vulnerable to psychic effects. Such as Telepathy, Telekinesis, Illusion Projection and the like. Max Lord was able to trick Superman into believing that Batman and Wonder Woman were both Doomsday with Mind Control, while the Kryptonian clone He'l managed to fray Superboy's genetic structure by pulling it apart with advanced Telekinesis.
- Vulnerability to Variable Irradiation: Certain radiological frequencies could hamper a Kryptonian's physical ability to harness and circulate solar radiation. As was the case when surviving a nuclear blast left Kal-El physically emaciated and trying to heal via solar energy caused him agony. Or when Vandal Savage implemented similar tactics to weaken both him and his cousin Kara by bathing their cells in a specialized radioactive isotope that impeded their cellular matrix's capacity to absorb and repurpose yellow sunlight.
- Vulnerability to Chi: Lex Luthor and Question argued that, because of Kryptonians' solar based powers, planetary based esoteric and vital forces could have an opposite effect on them. Luthor posited that concentrated doses of such energies could severely cripple a Kryptonian and become fatal, and he attempted to exploit this weakness with the Science Spire, which tapped into the energies.
- Phantom Zone: Kryptonians imprisoned within the inter dimensional prison, known as the "Phantom Zone" usually don't have powers they would under a yellow sun, as there is no yellow sun in the zone that they can absorb energy. There is one exception however, which is Doomsday, who actually doesn't need the sun for his powers and has been able to free himself from the zone. Also if they have a form of artificial yellow sunlight within the phantom zone, they will be able to utilize their powers and abilities.
- High-frequencies: Though considered a strength, a Kryptonian's hearing does have its disadvantages. Since their hearing is more sensitive than a normal human's, higher pitch noises (sonic screams, etc.) can disorient them and cause pain in their ears, leaving them vulnerable in a fight. Therefore, enemies with sound-based powers, like Silver Banchee can potentially be powerful enough to cause a Kryptonian's ears to bleed.
- Sound-dampening technology: The D.E.O. designed frequencies to block super-hearing and cause Kryptonian's slight pain when trying to use it in areas protected by the technology.
- Extreme energy: Extreme amounts of energy, such as the energy from the Reactron suit or Livewire's electricity, while she is at her peak, can be enough to kill a Kryptonian.
- Solar energy overload: An extremely rare occurrence that is only known to affect one Kryptonian, who, apparently, has absorbed such tremendous amount of solar energy, that it became poisonous to one and eventually caused a Kryptonian to literally explode. Absorbing from the blue sun is okay, but if absorbing it too much of it then it can have severe consequences.
- Alien technology: Alien weapons, technology, and metals such as Vartox's axe, the Master Jailer armor, or the mind control orb used by the Dominators, can be used against them to breach a Kryptonian's invulnerability, and therefore, to potentially harm and kill them.
Culture[]
In each of the main universes, the aspects of the Kryptonian culture had differences, but in all it is accepted that Kryptonians are a highly technologically advanced people. In Earth-Two's Krypton, children as young as 5 years of age studied engineering. In New Earth's Krypton, the people lived isolated, rarely having personal meetings, only communicating through electronic methods. They had no sexual intercourse anymore, and their sons were generated by artifical ways gathering gametes of a couple into a matrix chamber (Superman's biological parents defy that & they decided to have a natural birth & sent him to earth shortly before Krypton exploded). Their technology seems to be based on self-grown crystals which made up the vast majority of their planet's surface. Vast amounts of data and information could be stored on relatively small crystals. The Fortress of Solitude is a recreation of Krypton's surface, and also serves as a storehouse for all the knowledge obtained by the Kryptonian race from the 28 known galaxies.
Each Kryptonian family, or what is called a "House," is represented by a crest or symbol, often worn by the head of the house. The House of El, for example, is represented by an "S"-like shape. Coincidentally, Superman wears this same symbol on his costume that serves for dual meanings: his Kryptonian heritage and the "S" for Superman.
Social structure[]
Kryptonian society mainly places its values on arts, science, military might, and theology, strictly dividing its citizens into the 6 respective guilds. All citizens must choose to be part of a guild or it will be chosen for them against their will:
- Council of 5 / Kryptonian Law Council
- The Military Guild - governs all forms of martial power and military might on the planet and serves as the backbone of Kryptonian conquering authority. It maintains the martial glory of Krypton.
- Sapphire Guards
- Warrior Guild
- The Science Guild - governs most forms of technology and science on the planet and houses the race's most ingenious minds. The guild is decried as emotionless but has contributed to the race being being a mighty technological power. Superman's biological parents were part of that guild.
- Kryptonian Explorer Guild
- Thinker Guild
- The Artists Guild - governs all forms of art, design, and creativity and believes the most strongly in the religions of the Krypton besides the Religious Guild.
- The Religious Guild - the most secretive and reclusive of the guilds which serves as the absolute religious authority on Krypton. The guild is governed by priests which represent all Kryptonian Gods, each in turn representing a guild.
- Mediator Guild
- The Labor Guild - keeps the planet functions running, taking on all and any manual jobs and ordered to serve all the other guilds. They are commonly the unseen masses of Kryptonians that are often overlooked and looked down upon as second class citizens by the other guilds. To further the point, they lack any guild representation. and have no say in society affairs. According to Superman, they are tantamount to glorified slaves but he hates both slavery & segregation very much.
Religion[]
The main religion on Krypton is Raoism in which Kryptonians worship the God Rao as their prime God and the progenitor of their race and world. The religion is henotheistic, as it includes lesser gods that are also worshiped by respective Kryptonian guilds in addition to Rao such as Cythonna, Yuda, Nightwing, and Flamebird. A better comparison would be that of Catholicism with Rao as the monotheistic deity surrounded by the lesser gods as "angels". Outside the standard life cycle events of birth, marriage, and death, Kryptonians have no interaction with their clergy and the clergy rarely interacts with the rest of society. Each of the Kryptonian Guilds honors a specific god, Telle (God of Wisdom/Science), Lorra (Goddess of Beauty/Arts), Mordo (God of Strength/Military), Yuda (God of the Moon/Labor), and Cythonna, who is personally honored by the Religious Guild while Rao is honored by all. Ironically, Superman has been living on Earth & doesn't do that worship of Kryptonian gods & he worshops the Lord God & Jesus Christ with his adopted parents in Smallville, Kansas.
Justice and methods of incarceration[]
When in various versions of Krypton, criminals were sent to the dimension known as the Phantom Zone, in Earth-Two's Krypton criminals were sent in suspended animation on rockets into space. On Earth-One, killing a Kryptonian beast named Rondor was considered a crime, possibly with capital punishment.
Kryptonians also follow the 11 Virtues: Hope, Purity, Altruism, Synergy, Restraint, Industriousness, Imagination, Home/Family, Truth, Justice, & Peace.

- They have mastered the use of interstellar travel.

- Technology that allows them to open up portals leading to a dimensional plane known as the Phantom Zone which they used as a prison.[7]
- Their weapons were also extremely advanced, most likely energy based.
- The clothing of Krypton's inhabitants has also proven to be just as durable as they are and can withstand a great deal of abuse.
