Spending many years as a red-shirt has helped Kerry become a great martial artist and she has won many karate awards on campus. She injured her knee after 64 days of basic training, thus requiring her to try again. This has also lead to Kerry being excluded from any aggressive sports and unnecessary contact sparring. She is from Hong Kong and speaks fluent Cantonese.
Kerry is bright, but prefers verbal and artistic subjects. She excels in foreign languages, and is fluent in Japanese, Spanish, French and Mandarin.
Kerry's best friend is Gabrielle O'Brien. Kerry enjoys watching soap operas, Rafael Nadal, eating Chinese food, and long walks on the beach. She does have a few specific dislikes, including watching football, soggy bread and her persistent knee problems.
She had a relationship with James Adams who dumped her for Dana Smith after cheating on her multiple times. In The Sleepwalker, Kerry offers to sleep with James and even offers more, but a love for Dana prevents him from doing so, though he admits he still has feelings for Kerry.
Kerry also had a relationship with Bruce Norris, James' best friend. They break up in The General.
