General Hospital is an American soap opera and the longest-running soap on the broadcaster ABC. The show started on 1 april 1963 on the same day that NBC competitor with the hospital The Doctors series began. The series began with 30 minutes but that there were 45 in 1976 and an hour in 1978 (advertising included).
The series is set in the fictional Port Charles.
The soap was, inter alia, in 1983 for the single Baby, come to me by Patti Austin and James Ingram a number one position in the Billboard Hot 100, the single was previously partly flopped.
