Gatomon is a Digimon in Digimon Adventure, Digimon Adventure 02, Digimon Adventure tri., and the Digimon Xros Wars manga who is partnered with Kari Kamiya. The Gatomon of Digimon Adventure also appears in several movies, manga, and video games set within the Digimon Adventure continuity.
Appearance[]
In the dub, she speaks in a soft, drawling voice. The Japanese version, however, has Gatomon in a much older voice to reflect her maturity as a Champion level Digimon. As Salamon, she acts more child-like, similar to a typical Rookie level Digimon, while as Gatomon she acts more like a teenager and as Angewomon she acts like an adult. However, in the Japanese version she behaves maturely even in her child level at times. This particular Gatomon also bears red X-shaped scars on her left paw and two scars on her right paw[5] under the yellow gloves from when Myotismon beat her because he disliked her eyes.
Fiction[]
Digimon Adventure[]

Kari and Gatomon
Gatomon was created along with the rest of the DigiDestined's Digimon, as part of a project to help balance the good and evil in the Digital World. When she was still a Digi-Egg connected to the Crest of Light and the Digivice, the Dark Masters attacked the facility where she is housed, and Gennai fled with the eggs in hand. During the escape, Gatomon's Digi-Egg fell and became separated from the rest of the Digimon. The Ultimate Clash She later hatched into Nyaromon, and constantly waited for someone she was programmed to bond with. When she later digivolved into Salamon, she searched for that person instead of passively waiting, but found Myotismon. He took her under his wing, but during that time he routinely abused her, causing her to forget what she had been doing. Salamon eventually naturally digivolved into Gatomon and became one of Myotismon's lieutenants in his army of Digimon. During this time, she gained a rival in one of his other minions, DemiDevimon, as the two competed for their master's favor. Her only friend was Wizardmon, a friendly Digimon who Gatomon had once helped. The Eighth Child Revealed
Gatomon first appears before the DigiDestined as a hyper-competent, malicious Digimon working for Myotismon. The Gateway To Home
Gatomon accompanies Myotismon and his army in the assault on the Real World in the search of the Eighth Child, the predestined eighth member of the DigiDestined, who Myotismon was determined to destroy. Thanks to Wizardmon, Gatomon realizes that she was in fact the chosen partner Digimon for the eighth member, Kari Kamiya. However, Myotismon also discovers this and captured Gatomon and uses her to identify Kari. When Gatomon refused, Kari willingly gave herself up to stop the bloodshed, despite the protests of Gatomon and the other DigiDestined.
The DigiDestined and their Digimon, along with Wizardmon, fight Myotismon to save Kari. During the battle, Wizardmon sacrifices himself for Kari. Gatomon and her partner are devastated by Wizardmon's death, and this activated the Crest of Light, enabling Gatomon to digivolve to Angewomon to fight Myotismon. By absorbing the power of the other Digimon into one of her arrows, Angewomon apparently destroys Myotismon. However, Myotismon's spirit endures and he becomes VenomMyotismon. After the ensuing battle, Gatomon accompanies Kari and the other DigiDestined back to the Digital World to fight the Dark Masters.

Digimon Adventure 02[]
Four years later, a human calling himself the Digimon Emperor began conquering the Digital World and enslaving its Digimon. Gatomon is reunited with Kari, but had lost her tail ring while escaping a Unimon under the Emperor's control. Without the tail ring's holy power, Gatomon's strength was greatly reduced to roughly that of a Rookie-level Digimon.
Gennai eventually returns the missing Tail Ring to Gatomon, having found it at some point. He explains that the ring served as a means to contain the dark energy of the Digimon Emperor's fortress, and that the absence of the ring is also what enabled Gatomon to armor digivolve like the others, despite already being at the Champion level.

Digimon Xros Wars (manga)[]
At a later point, Gatomon started to gather Wizardmon's data, which had been scattered through many worlds. BONUS TRACK Eventually, Gatomon ended up in the Digimon Xros Wars universe's Digital World.
Gatomon reappears in the Corridor Zone, accompanying the researcher Wizardmon as his assistant and bodyguard. While watching the Fusion Fighters' battle against Tactimon, she observes that Shoutmon X4 bears a striking resemblance to Omnimon and is very surprised when the Fusion Fighters drive back the Bagra Army. Later, she arrives in the Fusion Fighters's camp with Wizardmon and reveals that she has something to talk about with Mikey Kudo. The Shortmon serve her and Wizardmon some cake. Once Mikey Kudo arrives, Gatomon spaces out as Wizardmon explains how to get to the Real World. Xros World!! The Secret of the Two Worlds!? Once in the Real World, Gatomon takes Mikey, Angie, and Jeremy to the top of an apartment complex. Wizardmon then transforms her into an human. After getting food, she goes with Angie and Dorulumon to watch Mikey's conversation with Tatsuya Sano. After the battle against Blastmon, she returns to the Digital World with the rest of the Fusion Fighters.
A few months later, she is present in Jupiter Zone for the final battle against the Bagra Army. While Shoutmon X7 is battling the two surviving Head Officers, Gatomon is in the Bagra Pandaemonium with Wizardmon, Sunflowmon, Lilymon, OchiMusyamon and the Mushroomons looking for leads that could connect Bagramon to the Two-Headed Dragon. Gatomon is then present for AxeKnightmon's absorption of Laylamon. Xros Warrior!! The Released Demon!! Once ZeedMillenniummon is created, Gatomon and the others attempt to flee. Realizing that they can't escape ZeedMilleniummon's attack, Wizardmon pushes Gatomon and the others away using his "Blink Breeze" and takes the blunt force of ZeedMilleniummon's "Time Destroyer." As Gatomon is blown away, she screams Wizardmon's name as she watches her friend die yet again. Xros Apocalypse!! The Beast of Revelation!! Jijimon then reveals to Gatomon that "Time Destroyer" doesn't kill the target, but rather sends it through space-time. Gatomon then regains her composure and is determined to collect his data again, even if it takes hundreds of more years. Xros Miracle!! Reel in a Sliver of Hope!!
After ZeedMilleniummon's forced Xros Open, Gatomon evolves into Angewomon and then Fuses into Shoutmon X7F Superior Mode in order to destroy UltimateKhaosmon. The name "Gatomon" refers this Digimon's Champion form. Throughout the series, she digivolves into a number of other forms, each with a different name. Unlike the rest of partner Digimon in Digimon Adventure, Gatomon normally remains in her Champion form, as she was able to acquire enough energy to reach it on her own before ever meeting Kari.
In Digimon Tamers: Battle Spirit Ver. 1.5, Gatomon has the ability to digivolve into Ophanimon as her Mega form. In the CD Drama Armor Evolution to the Unknown, she can also digivolve to Butterflymon with the Digi-Egg of Knowledge. Additionally, in Yuen Wong Yu's manga adaptation of Digimon Adventure 02, Gatomon is shown in the Baby form of YukimiBotamon.[2]

This someone would be Kari, as Gatomon would later find. Confession Nyaromon bonded with Kari due to Her recognizing Kari's scent which is the same as the whistle. She soon digivolve offscreen into Salamon. Loss In the battle between Omnimon, Raguelmon, Alphamon, and Jesmon, the crossfire caused her and five other digimon to revert to their In-Training forms. after the battle, Kari's fear of losing Her brother, caused Nyaromon to black out and Dark Digivolve to Ophanimon Falldown Mode. Coexistence After Omnimon Merciful Mode kills Ordinemon, it reverts to the 8 In-Training Digimon, including Nyaromon. Coexistence Attacks

Salamon[]![]() Salamon is Gatomon's Rookie form. According to an interview with the English dub producer, Terri-Lei O'Malley, Salamon was named after her pet cat. Salamon tends to appear when Gatomon is too exhausted after a fight to maintain the Champion form. She appears for the first time in Digimon Adventure in a flashback about how Gatomon met Myotismon. In Digimon Adventure 02, Salamon appears again when Silphymon De-Digivolves. In Digimon Adventure tri., after digivolving from Nyaromon, Salamon's bond with Kari grows closer than ever to the point she was really worried when Kari was unconscious after Machinedramon's attack. Later during the battle against MetalSeadramon, a huge debris of Ice headed towards the two prompting Salamon to digivolve to Gatomon to saved them both, much to Kari's relief. Nefertimon[]![]() Digi-Egg of Light Nefertimon, the "Angel of Light" (or "the Light of Smiles" in the original Japanese), is the form that Gatomon takes when she Armor Digivolves using the Digi-Egg of Light. Gatomon first became Nefertimon on the day the Digi-Egg of Light was found. Gatomon, Kari Kamiya, Takeru "T.K." Takaishi, Patamon and Cody Hida had ended up in a cave after escaping some Dark-Ringed Tyrannomon. Kari managed to obtain the Digi-Egg and unleashed its power, allowing Gatomon to Armor Digivolve to Nefertimon. After Ken renounced his evil persona, Nefertimon remained as Gatomon's only digivolved form as Kari using the power from the Crest of Light to free the Harmonious Ones made her unable to digivolve into Ultimate until she and the other older Digi-Destined Digimon had their powers restored by one of Azulongmon's DigiCores. Afterward, Nerfertimon was primarily used for transportation as it was easier for Kari to ride on her than Angewomon. Nefertimon made her last appearance in the Digimon Adventure 02 finale when the cast was transported to a dimension where (according to Gennai) "wishes can become reality". Here, Gatomon was able to digivolve into Angewomon and Nefertimon at once. The sacrifice of Wizardmon and Kari's mourning activated the Crest of Light, allowing Gatomon to Digivolve into Angewomon. She then used her "Heaven's Charm" and "Celestial Arrow" to defeat him. Angewomon also gains a bow where she and Angemon shoot a single arrow on both Tai and Matt to attain both of their partner Digimon in Mega forms via Warp Digivolve. Angewomon was also a powerful ally in the fight against VenomMyotismon, the Dark Masters and Apocalymon. She also got into a cat fight with her rival LadyDevimon. After Kari used the power from the Crest of Light to free the Harmonious Ones, Gatomon lost the power to become Angewomon at will Fusion Confusion; but while battling one of the Digimon Emperor's Airdramon by the Dark Ocean, she was able to digivolve to Angewomon due to an unexpected power boost, letting her save Kari and T.K. and restoring the Divermon to their true forms. His Master's Voice. Later on, a full three years after giving up her power, Gatomon and the other older DigiDestined Digimon had their powers restored by one of Azulongmon's DigiCores, allowing Gatomon to once again assume her Ultimate form. Dramon Power She was with MegaKabuterimon during the World Tour in Hong Kong. When Daemon and his troops were in the Real World, LadyDevimon appeared and Angewomon got into another catfight with her. She gave her last ounce of energy to Imperialdramon Dragon Mode so he could defeat SkullSatamon. When the DigiDestined follow Oikawa into the World of dreams, Gatomon is able to digivolve into Angewomon, as well as all of her other forms, at the same time. Angewomon helps attack the newly revealed MaloMyotismon, but vanishes when the Digimon follow the demon lord through a dimensional rip into the Digital World. Angewomon later fights one of Diaboromon's clones when they try to break back into the Real World. Revenge of Diaboromon During the battle to stop Meicrackmon from triggering the reboot, Gatomon digivolves into Angewomon to help the other partner Digimon who are already engaed in the battle. During the battle, she was forced to defend herself from an infected Angemon who savagely pursues her. Later, she too succumbed to the infection and begins to attack both MetalGreymon and Kabuterimon. Eventually, she managed to fight off the infection long enough so she and her fellow Digimon can enter the Distortion before the reboot occurs. Confession Angewomon appears during the battle to stop the more beserk Meicrackmon along with the other partner Digimon (in their Ultimate level), but was taken down in one hit. As the battles continues inside the Digital World, Alphamon appears to clash as well and the repercussions of his attacks causes Angewomon to revert back to Nyaromon. CoexistenceAngewomon briefly appears during Gatomon's digivolution into Magnadramon. Future When the Old Clock Shop Man summons the heroes of the past to the Fusion universe to help take down Quartzmon, Angewomon shows up with Angemon and Justimon to assist in the DigiQuartz. With Tai's return, Kari tells him that she doesn't want to kill Meicoomon and says that there is a light and darkness in everything. Still, she understand what needs to be done which allows Gatomon to digivolve into her Mega form Magnadramon. Magnadramon joins the battle and manages to disoriented Ordinemon in the process. Eventually, she merges with the other partner Digimon into Omnimon to form Omnimon Merciful Mode who quickly kills Ordinemon. She then reverts back to Nyaromon.
