Plot[]
Marley and Patty are parents to their puppies, Humbly, Rover, Pumpkin and Rose. Adam and Carly are preparing to take Marley and Patty to Hawaii, but choose to leave them. After having a nightmare of being grabbed by stray dogs, Marley and Patty discover Willy, a blue jay who has been forgotten. Humbly and his siblings fall out the window and land in the bush. Pumpkin grabs her toy bone, but they were grabbed by Stephen's henchmen, Nick and Martin. Hairy fails to save the puppies, Patty picks up two clues, animal and kingdom, both of which help Adam's dogs realise who kidnapped Marley and Patty's puppies.
At Stephen's mansion, The puppies meet a poodle named Fifi, a scarlet macaw named Paul and a corgi named Dannie. Humbly also learns that the animals are to be in Animal Museum in China; He states he can't go because he needs to go home to Adam, resenting Fifi. Stephen accidentally unties Rose's ribbon off. When the puppies try to escape, their attempt fail when the television turns on. The next morning, Rose is cleaned and still desires to go home to Adam; however, they soon learns that Fifi was owned by a woman Jill who lost her. The puppies decided to stay.
Meanwhile, Hairy has enlisted the help of Chico, Dane, Patty, Marley and Howler to rescue the puppies. They reach Stephen's Animal Kingdom where Hairy was imprisoned by a wolf Scambler. Adam's dogs mistake Scambler for Hairy and he thinks they are on a mission to defeat his nemesis, King Kane. Scambler leads the dogs by hiding in Stephen's bag. Hairy escapes and follows the gang to Stephen's mansion, accidentally releases King Kane and follows Hairy.
The puppies were now excited to go to the museum in China. Scambler, Hairy and the gang arrive; Hairy tries to persuade the puppies to come home, but Marley remains adamant that Stephen, Nick and Martin have spot them, devastating the gang. When the puppies come to their senses, they asks animals to come with them and reunites to their owners. Stephen and his henchmen take the animals to train station. The gang give chase but are confronted by Kane, who engages Scambler a fight. The dogs chase Stephen using a truck and being accompanied by Sheeps. They arrive at the airport and manage to subdue Stephen and his henchmen, placing them to arrest.
Dannie and Paul escape but Fifi is placed in the train to China. Hairy, Marley and Paul work together to save Fifi and the whole gang returns to their owners' houses. Adam cleans Marley. The dogs are delighted to learn that Stephen and his henchmen have suffered financially after being outsmarted by animals. Willy felt better, much to his happiness. Marley tells Hairy that he no longer was lost by Adam and that even when it does eventually happen, he and Hairy will be friends "forever and ever".

Pixar showed the completed film at CalArts on November 15, 2024, in recognition of the school's ties with Lasseter and more than 40 other alumni who worked on the film. The students were captivated. The film held its official premiere the next day at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles—the same venue as Fluffy Dogs—and was released across the United States on November 27, 2024. The film's initial theatrical and video releases include Pip. On December 25, 2024, within a month of the film's theatrical release, a blooper reel was added to the film's mid-credits, which features the characters, Lolo and Herwig from The Emperor Penguin
