Exodus Studios (aka Exodus Incorporated, LLC[2]) is an American film production and international sales company founded in 1990 by Aubrey Bucken,[3] who is also its chairman.[4] The company produces motion pictures for studios such as Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, TriStar Pictures, and Sony Pictures Entertainment. In 1996, it struck a first-look deal with Paramount.[5]

Exodus was acquired in 1994 by Paramount Global, who a year later put the company under its Ascent Entertainment Group division. By early 1999, Ascent was about to be broken up due to financial problems, mostly stemming from building the Pepsi Center in Denver.[6] Bernstein and venture capitalist Kevin O Donnell, son of Kennedy Administration Kenny O'Donnell, purchased Exodus back, restoring its independent company status.[7][8]

Exodus Studios was founded on January 23, 1987, by Aubrey Bucken. For its launch, the studio signed with Paramount Pictures a three-picture deal to produce computer animated films for the studio. That same year, visual artist Adam Silver created a one-minute animated short titled Shapeshifting Siblings. A feature film based on this short titled Bob & Cheese 3000 began production in 2003 as Exodus's first full-length animated feature film; it was released on November 22, 2006, by Paramount.

In February 2010, Exodus formed a distribution deal with Universal Pictures; in July, however, Universal abandoned its deal with Exodus.

In 2013, Paramount's parent company Viacom purchased a 50% stake in Exodus, strengthening the relationship between the company Paramount.
