In the Marvel Comics Multiverse, Earth-712 or Earth-S is the designation used to identify the continuity in which the Squadron Supreme operate. This world has a similar history, but many of the place-names of cities and states are different from that of the real world, and this reality has far fewer superhuman beings than Earth-616, the mainstream Marvel Universe.
This universe and its inhabitants were created as analogues for a DC Comics team of super-heroes, the Justice League. They were created to get around company ownership of characters in order to give fans a match-up/battle between the Justice League, DC Comics' premier super-team and Marvel Comics' Avengers, where Hyperion stands in for Superman, Nighthawk stands in for Batman, Power Princess stands in for Wonder Woman, Doctor Spectrum is representative for Green Lantern, Master Menace is Lex Luthor (though the appearance & name are more inspired by Doctor Doom), Whizzer is the Flash, etc.
