DATS, short for Digimon Data Squad (Digital Accident Tactics Squad), is an international organization dedicated to keeping the peace between the Human and Digital Worlds, by apprehending any Digimon that appear in the Real World and returning them to the Digital World as Digi-Eggs. The Japanese branch, headquartered in Yokohama, falls under the direct jurisdiction of Japan's Confidentiality Ministry, Hashima.

Description[]

When signs of evil Digimon started to appear in the Real World, DATS was established to stop them. When an evil Digimon has been defeated and reverted to a Digi-Egg, their Digi-Egg is sent back to the Digital World through a machine within DATS HQ. Template:Section-stub

Due to the manipulation of Akihiro Kurata, the core team of DATS operatives in Japan was dissolved, and the building that housed DATS was destroyed. In later episodes they operate secretly from underground after the core team of DATS come back together, though not officially. After the Partner Digimon (including Biyomon), Gotsumon and Marcus Damon returned to the Digital World, DATS is permanently dissolved. Five years later most of the members of DATS has moved on and have jobs at the local police station, while Thomas cures his sister's illness and wins a Nobel Peace Prize.
