Robert James "Bobby" Pechman is the main protagonist of the American animated television series The World of Bobby. Bobby is a teenager who works as a fry cook at Krusty Burger, a fast food restaurant known for its french fries, burgers and chicken nuggets. He is characterized by his optimism and childlike attitude, and is influenced by other characters like Freddie Moreno and Scott Melrod. He is voiced by actor Mack Kenny.

Role in The World of Bobby[]

Bobby is a good-natured, naive, and enthusiastic teenager. He resides in Los Angeles. He works as a fry cook at a local fast food restaurant, the Krusty Burger, to which he is obsessively attached, showing devotion to it above other restaurants. His boss is Jeffrey Kelly, a greedy man who who nonetheless treats Bobby like a son. Edward Tagliafico, a 22-year old man and Bobby's ill-tempered, snobbish neighbor, works as the restaurant's cashier. Bobby's hobbies include fishing for insects, practicing karate with his friend Sandra Campbell, and blowing bubbles.

Bobby is often seen hanging around with his best friend, Paddy Sahashi, one of his neighbors. Bobby lives in a venice beach house with his dog, Toby. His unlimited optimistic cheer often leads him to perceive the outcome of numerous endeavors and the personalities of those around him as happier than they really are. He believes, for instance, that Edward Tagliafico enjoys his company even though he clearly harbors an intense dislike for him (though they have been shown to get along on rare occasions). Bobby's greatest goal in life is to obtain the trophy from Mrs. Parrish's Raceway Park.

Creation and design[]

Hillenburg had made several "horrible impersonations" before he finally conceived of his character. He compared the concept to Freddie Prinze Jr. and Tobey Maguire.

Voice[]

Bobby was voiced by a voice actor Mack Kenny.

Throughout the series, Bobby's voice evolved from "low-key" to high-pitched.
