Bearenger (ベアンジャ, Beanjā) is a minor antagonist and the second boss of Tails' Skypatrol. He is an anthropomorphic black bear and was one of the three henchmen of Witchcart.

History[]

Tails' Skypatrol[]

Along with Focke-Wulf and Carrotia, Bearenger was one of three henchmen of Witchcart, who was threatening to transform every inhabitant of the island into crystal. He was defeated by Miles "Tails" Prower.

Battle[]

Bearenger is the second boss in the game and is fought at the end of RuinWood Area. He pilots a small, light-blue colored rocket with a shark's face painted on it.

Boss guide[]

During the fight, he fires three small projectiles at Tails at a time. Destroying each projectile gives a hundred points to the player. Like most other bosses in the game, the player has to land twenty hits or toss Bearenger into the ground four times to defeat him.

In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics, Bearenger's full name is Bearenger the Grizzly. In this media, he is a part of the Witchcarters, a trio of mobians controlled by Wendy Naugus against their will.

  • The prototype design of Bearenger, seen in some early beta footage of the game, had him resembling the recurring antagonist of Disney's Mickey Mouse, Pete.
  • The rocket-like vehicle Bearenger is seen riding is similar in appearance to fighter planes called Flying Tigers utilized during World War II.
  • Bearenger is the only boss missing from the Japanese box artwork for Tails' Skypatrol.
