That same year he offered his services to the well-known Louis Carrier-Belleuse, which it gave an acceptable life situation for five years, but with whom he played the endless modeling of meaningless figurines and decorative motifs for theater facades or gaudy homes.

He was encouraged by the admiration of Rainer Maria Rilke, Stéphane Mallarmé, Octave Mirbeau and Léon Gambetta.

Style[Edit][]
Rodin was a sculptor of the Impressionism. He used nature to his work vibrant look. His work is distinguished by the irregular surface, on which the light glare caused. This glare give the image dexterity. This effect was not where he wanted. With this way of exhibiting tried to show the steps of the Rodin sculpture. Such as the painters built up their work out colour and light spots, Rodin built his sculptures from clay and bronze. Be visible by the of the make process, knew Rodin the temporary aspect in his work to come forward. One more feature of Impressionism in sculpture is the view that art is autonomous, the form and intent are one unit and the viewer can see how the work is made. Thereby it seems sometimes so that the artwork is not complete.
The volatile Impressionism of Rodin, who was a friend with Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir and Stéphane Mallarmé, reached new heights. Émile-Antoine Bourdelle, Aristide Maillol, Charles Despiau, François Pompon, the Argentine Sesostris Vitullo, the German Georg Kolbe and the Russian stood strong Soudbinine under his influence.
In addition to the countless sculptures he produced an impressive number of quick sketches, drawings and watercolours, mostly gerehausseerde or not with a confusing erotism, so that some critics called him sexually obsessed .
