Charlotte Alexandra Jones (born 18 March 1977)[citation needed] is a Welsh television presenter, best known for her presenting work with S4C and the BBC.
Alex has co-presented the BBC One magazine show The One Show since August 2010, with Matt Baker and Chris Evans.[2][3] Since 2011, Jones has co-hosted Let's Dance for Comic Relief alongside Steve Jones, having replaced Claudia Winkleman.

Early life[edit]
Charlotte Alexandra Jones was born in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, Wales,[1] and has a younger sister Jennie. Her first language at home was English, but Alex was educated at Welsh language school Maes yr Yrfa, and is now fluent in both English and Welsh. After training as a ballet dancer as a child,[2] Jones studied theatre, film and television at the University of Aberystwyth, sitting her finals exams in Magaluf, Spain while appearing as a contestant on the Sky1 show Prickly Heat.[2][4]
Career[edit]
On graduation Jones became a television researcher, but after being sacked twice was asked by a producer at Avanti productions to take a try in front of the camera.[4] Her first presenting job was for BBC Choice, and she then joined S4C as a presenter on singing programme Cân i Gymru. (English: A Song for Wales)[4] Jones developed a speciality presenting Welsh-language children's programmes on S4C, including Hip neu Sgip?[5] and Salon, alongside occasional appearances on mainstream British television, including Channel 4's RI:SE.[4]
Jones currently presents S4C travel show Tocyn (English: Ticket) on S4C with Aled Samuel, the extreme sports show Chwa, and was part of the crew on Jonathan Davies' Welsh-languagerugby show Jonathan for the 2010 Six Nations Championship.[4] Jones is a regular co-host on Real Radio GMG in Wales.[6]
On 25 July 2010 Jones was announced as the new female co-host on BBC One's The One Show, replacing Christine Bleakley alongside male co-host, Jason Manford.[2][6][7][8]
She replaced Claudia Winkleman as a co-presenter of Let's Dance for Comic Relief for the competition's third series in February 2011.
She formed part of the BBC team for The Royal Wedding 2011 on 29 April 2011, reporting from Catherine Middleton's hometown.
She presented the United Kingdom's points in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.
Strictly Come Dancing[edit]

On 6 September 2011, it was announced that Jones would take part in the ninth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2011.[9] In the launch show, on 10 September, she was partnered with James Jordan.[10] Alex and James were eliminated a week before the final, and finished 5th overall in the competition.

Personal life[edit]
Alex was in a relationship with television presenter Matt Johnson for six years until 2009, but now has a new boyfriend named Charlie.
On 10 July 2012, Jones became a Fellow of Aberystwyth University[citation needed].
Charity[edit]
Jones is a patron for the Kidney Wales Foundation, alongside Katherine Jenkins.[11]
She won £1,000 for charity on a celebrity edition of The Chase in November 2013.
Rickshaw Challenge[edit]
In 2012, Alex became a member of Team Rickshaw alongside co-host Matt Baker on the BBC One show The One Show to raise money on behalf of the Children in Need charity. Team Rickshaw completed a treacherous journey across the heartlands of England and Wales, by means of pedal powered rickshaw. Outstanding to all those on looking, was the will and perseverance of six young adults who overcame all their expectations and putting aside their difference completed the 411 mile course. Raising an estimated 1.9 million pounds for the charity and raising an untold amount of awareness to the difficulties of living with disabilities. Each day started as a 6am start, and beginning in LlandudnoWales on Friday 9 November, the first rider took to the saddle with the support and constant encouragement of Matt Baker at their sway. Covered each night on The One Show the team traveled South across Wales, making each map destination Dolgellau, Lampeter, Swansea, Cardiff, Bath, Salisbury, Reading, and finally completing their task at the BBC Television centre, White City on Friday 16 November 2012.
She also took part in the 2013 Team Rickshaw Challenge for Children in Need.
