8 ½ (Italian: Otto e mezzo) is a film from 1963 of the Italian Director Federico Fellini.

[1] This film about the lack of inspiration was paradoxically Fellini's best and richest, full of compelling and penetrating scenes and images. The fantasies and grotesque characters would later return ad nauseam, but have lost nothing of their first surprising effect here, as are functional in the painting of a creative thought process and not an end in itself.
